Hello Doctor,
I'm having excruciating left hip pain to where I cannot bear weight on it and it almost gave out on me. It came on all of a sudden about 4 days ago. I have done everything I can over the counters: first Tylenol, ibuprofen, heat, ice, massage, and Icy Hot patches, along with physical therapy, but none of them have worked. The pain has been severe; it's affecting my everyday life and has me in tears.
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
You should undergo the following diagnostic tests to help identify the underlying cause of your hip pain:
1. Blood Tests:
Complete Blood Count (CBC)
C-Reactive Protein (CRP)
Rheumatoid Factor
Serum Uric Acid
2. Imaging:
X-ray of the Hip (AP and Lateral Views)
These tests will provide valuable insights into your condition and help us formulate an appropriate treatment plan. In the meantime, please avoid putting weight on the affected leg to prevent further injury.
Thanks
