Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I've been experiencing lower back pain that radiates down into both of my legs. Could this be a sign of a server issue, and what steps should I take to address it?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr.Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Herniated Disc: The pain radiating from the lower back to both legs could be indicative of a herniated disc, where the inner gel-like substance of the disc leaks out and irritates nearby nerves.

Sciatica: This condition occurs when the sciatic nerve, which runs from the lower back down the back of each leg, becomes compressed or irritated, causing pain, numbness, and tingling along its path.

Spinal Stenosis: Narrowing of the spinal canal can put pressure on the nerves, leading to lower back pain that may extend into the legs.

Thanks
