Hello Doctor,
For the past three days, I’ve had pain in both of my legs. The pain is mainly in the upper part of both legs, but on my left leg, the lower part hurts as well. The pain only happens when I’m walking up or down stairs, jumping, running, or standing up and sitting down. Occasionally, it hurts when I’m just walking, and it’s become bad enough that I almost fell down the stairs because of it. Should I be concerned, and is it bad enough to see a doctor?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
1. Based on your description, it sounds like your leg pain is activity-related and could be due to muscle strain, overuse, or mild inflammation. While it’s uncomfortable, it's not necessarily an emergency unless you experience swelling, redness, warmth, or if the pain becomes severe and constant.
2. However, since it's affecting your balance and daily activities, it would be wise to monitor your symptoms closely. If the pain persists for more than a week, worsens, or new symptoms appear, seeing a doctor would be a good idea. In the meantime, rest, apply ice, and consider over-the-counter pain relief if needed.
Thanks
