Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I've been experiencing pain in my right wrist, specifically around the last 2 knuckles, which travels up to my elbow. It feels like there's a lot of pressure in my wrist area, and it's painful to grasp certain things or move it in a particular way. I haven't done anything to injure it that I'm aware of. What should I do?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

You might be experiencing compression on the nerves in your wrist, a condition known as carpal tunnel syndrome. It's important to see a doctor for an examination of your wrist. They may recommend a nerve conduction study to assess the nerves. Treatment options for carpal tunnel syndrome include medication, wearing a wrist support, or in some cases, surgery.

Thanks
