Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I’m losing a lot of weight and getting really skinny. I’ve been like this for a while, but I didn’t notice until recently. When I try to eat, my throat feels like it closes up and I start feeling really grossed out, so I can’t eat much. Even if I force myself to eat, it just sits in my stomach and makes me feel sick until I throw up. I’m not making myself throw up on purpose. What’s going on?

Thankyou!

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Esophagitis and gastritis are conditions in which the throat or stomach becomes inflamed. It's important to seek medical help as soon as possible. Rapid and unexplained weight loss, difficulty swallowing, and a strong aversion to food may indicate underlying medical conditions, such as gastrointestinal issues, eating disorders, or other health problems. Consult a gastroenterologist for further investigation and treatment.

Thanks & Regards
