Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

Every time I blow my nose, there’s blood. I’ve also been sneezing a lot lately. Should I be worried?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

The most likely causes are either fragile capillaries in your nose, which can sometimes be cauterized to stop the bleeding, or irritation from cold, dry air. To confirm the exact cause, it’s best to consult an otorhinolaryngologist (ENT specialist). They can examine your nasal passages using a scope to determine the issue and recommend appropriate treatment.

Thanks
