Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I’m a 38-year-old male. I had a pretty bad fall recently and hit my head hard. I didn’t lose consciousness, but I’ve been feeling a bit off since then. How likely is it for someone my age to have bleeding in the brain from a fall like this? Should I be worried or get checked?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Yes, it’s possible. At 38, the risk is lower, but if you're on blood thinners or have a blood vessel issue in the brain, the chances go up. Even if you didn’t pass out, symptoms like headache, dizziness, confusion, or nausea could be signs of bleeding. It's best to get checked with a CT scan, especially since you’re feeling different after the fall. Early care is key.

Thanks
