Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I work in a welding factory, and I wore high-heeled boots. After completing my work, my feet were in significant pain, and there were moments when I couldn’t stand properly. What can I do to address this issue?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

1. High heels and work don’t usually fit in one sentence unless you are a working lady! To help with your foot pain, I recommend soaking your feet in a warm foot bath with salty water or Epsom salt in the evenings. This will help the muscles relax and ease the pain. Your feet will gradually adapt to the demands you place on them, but it typically takes about 7 years.

2. Unfortunately, the wrong shoes can disrupt this natural process. A natural remedy you can try is using white cabbage leaves—cut them open to release the juice, place them on your feet, and wrap them with cling film. This can help with inflammation and discomfort.

Thanks
