Hello Doctor,
I'm a 40-year-old female experiencing intense pain in my heels, which has become nearly unbearable.I'm searching for help to cope with this issue. I also have a history of Psoriasis, which was treated approximately 5 years ago, and I undergo annual checkups for it. I suspect the pain may be related to my Psoriasis, as it's localized directly over my heels. Can you identify the root cause of this discomfort and provide me with relief?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
It could be due to psoriasis, but still the most common cause of heel pain in your age group is plantar fasciitis (aka heel spur), which comes as sharp pain while walking, mostly with the first steps in the morning. If it was the case, you have to take care of your shoes and try wear the ones with soft heels, or add a silicone heel to them. You can also watch videos for home exercises that might help.
Thanks
