Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I've been feeling really sick for the past day. I have a high fever, sharp stomach pain, dizziness, nausea, and a bad cough. I also don't feel like eating anything. I'm not sure what's causing this, but it's making me feel really weak. Should I be concerned, and what should I do next?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

1. Your symptoms suggest a possible infectious process, which could involve the respiratory system or even the gastrointestinal tract. The combination of fever, cough, dizziness, nausea, and loss of appetite raises concerns about a viral or bacterial infection, but a more detailed evaluation is necessary to determine the exact cause.

2. It’s important to monitor your symptoms closely, especially if they worsen or persist. Dehydration, for example, can contribute to dizziness and weakness, so staying hydrated is crucial. However, given the severity and range of your symptoms, I strongly recommend that you visit a nearby hospital or clinic for a thorough evaluation. A doctor may need to perform tests, such as blood work or imaging, to accurately diagnose and provide the right treatment for your condition.

Thanks
