Hello Doctor,
I recently had a medical abortion at home using misoprostol, and I believe I passed the fetus as it looked like a tiny baby. Since then, I have been using antibiotics and pain medications, but I'm still getting blood clots and occasional heavy bleeding. I also feel dizzy and have strange vibrating sensations in my head. I suffered a blow to my head before the abortion. It’s been 6 weeks since the abortion, and I'm still bleeding. I tried having sex, and it made the bleeding worse. I'm really worried. Can you help me?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
Given your symptoms, it’s important to ensure that the abortion was complete. I recommend that you undergo a scan to confirm whether any tissue remains in the uterus. Additionally, blood work is necessary to rule out infection or other complications. The continued bleeding and dizziness you’re experiencing could be related to retained tissue or hormonal changes. It is also important to check for any possible complications from the blow to your head. I strongly advise you to schedule a consultation to address these concerns and provide you with the proper care.
Thanks
