Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I've been taking antidepressants for a long time, but recently I had an allergic reaction. It's been two weeks, and about 50% of my dizziness has improved. I'm wondering how much longer it will take for the rest of my dizziness to go away? Should I be concerned, or is this a normal recovery process?

Hello

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

The duration of your dizziness depends on several factors, including the specific antidepressants you’ve been taking and your overall health. It’s important to know exactly which medication caused the allergic reaction, as different drugs can have varying effects and recovery times.

If your dizziness is improving but still persisting, it could be a sign that the medication may not be the best fit for you, or there might be another underlying issue. It’s essential to follow up with your doctor to evaluate your symptoms and consider modifying your treatment plan if necessary. They might suggest adjusting the dosage, switching medications, or trying other remedies to alleviate your dizziness. Don’t hesitate to contact your healthcare provider to discuss these concerns and get personalized advice on the next steps.

Thanks
