Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I have a funny tummy ache.... It started a few days ago, you know when your bladder is really full and feels like it's about to burst. That happened so I got up and went, the pain subsided a bit but then a few hours later the pain was back. So I tried again to go potty. Not much came out but I still have this weird pain.

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr.Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

It seems you may be experiencing symptoms of a urinary tract infection (UTI) or another bladder or pelvic issue. The feeling of a full bladder that doesn’t completely empty, along with recurring abdominal or pelvic pain, are key indicators. Women are more prone to UTIs, but other potential causes include bladder irritation or inflammation (cystitis), pelvic floor muscle spasms, or interstitial cystitis, which is a chronic bladder condition.

To address your symptoms effectively, it’s important to see a doctor for a proper diagnosis and treatment. Persistent abdominal pain, difficulty urinating, or additional concerning signs like blood in the urine warrant immediate medical attention. While waiting for your consultation, staying hydrated, avoiding bladder irritants, and using a warm compress on your lower abdomen may help alleviate discomfort. However, the recurring and unexplained nature of your symptoms suggests the need for professional evaluation.

Thanks
