Hello Doctor,
My 10-week-old has had issues with sickness since he was 2 weeks old. Recently, we went to the hospital because his soft spot was dipping, and he had diarrhea, with up to 10 watery stools a day. They changed his milk to Nutramigen and suggested a diet, but I’m worried about putting him on a diet since he was already dehydrated.
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
After starting Nutramigen, you may notice that your baby produces frequent, loose stools that may be greenish. This is typically normal for babies on hypoallergenic formulas used for cow’s milk allergy, as they process these formulas differently. However, if you’re concerned or if symptoms persist, it’s always best to consult your doctor. They can help confirm if the formula is suitable or if adjustments are needed to address dehydration or other symptoms.
Thanks
