Hello Doctor,
I was wondering if you can tell me what some of the problems that are in red, meaning not good, on my lab results. I don’t know what any of the lab results mean, and it’s the weekend, so I won’t find any answers until the week. I’m a 33-year-old woman, and it’s saying under cardiac that the test hsCRP is 12.05 mg/L (high). Could you tell me what that is? What are the causes of that? Is it serious since it’s not in the reference range, and what could I do to fix this? I’m really concerned about that test result, but it also says my RBC is 5.06 m/µL (high) and HCT is 46.6% (high).
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
CRP (C-reactive protein) is a nonspecific test that indicates inflammation in the body. It can be used to monitor treatment progress for a condition. If you're not on treatment, high CRP suggests an underlying issue that needs to be checked and treated.
Thanks
