Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I accidentally ate food with mold last night at exactly 8 PM, but I didn’t realize it until now. I think I may have eaten more than I should have. It’s 12 PM now, and I don't have a fever, but I have a headache and a dry cough. Could these symptoms be related to the mold I ate?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Generally, eating moldy food doesn't cause symptoms unless you breathe in mold spores. If you've eaten moldy food, it's more likely to cause a short course of diarrhea rather than headaches or a dry cough. If your symptoms persist or worsen, it may be worth considering other causes and seeking further advice. However, it’s always good to monitor how you feel and stay hydrated.

Thanks
