Remedies for Chest Congestion

Hello Doctor,

 

Is there a medication available for a chest cold or flu that comes in nasal spray or dissolvable pill form? I'm quite sensitive to taste and prefer not to take liquids.

Hydration and Nasal Steaming:

Stay hydrated with warm water.

Use nasal steaming for relief.

 

Antihistamines:

Loratadine 10mg or cetirizine 20mg every 12 hours for five days.

 

Fever and Pain Management:

Paracetamol 1g every 8 hours for three days.

Antibiotics (if bacterial infection is suspected):

Amoxicillin 1g every 8 hours for five days.

 

Nasal Congestion Relief:

Otrivine nasal drops every 12 hours.

 

Antiviral Medication (if symptoms persist):

Acyclovir 400mg every 12 hours for five to seven days.
