Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I have white spots in my vagina. There is no itching or burning, and they come off like cervical mucus. I have a normal discharge with no odor.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

This sounds like a yeast infection or a mixed one. The discharge in relation to the periods needs to be observed; if it occurs throughout the cycle, then an examination is necessary, including a speculum test with a Pap smear if you are sexually active. If not, a scan will suffice, along with a discharge sample for testing under a microscope and culture. Urine testing will also be required. Treatment can be initiated after a diagnosis is confirmed. Additionally, consider family medical history regarding any illnesses in parents or siblings. If you are sexually active, think about suitable contraceptive options.

Thanks
