Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I have swelling, redness, and bumps on one vaginal lip. It's itchy and stings to pee. I got waxed recently, so could the irritation be from that? I haven't had sex in a while, so I don't think it's an STD. Can you provide info to calm my nerves?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

If you recently got waxed, it's possible the symptoms you're experiencing are related to that. Waxing can cause skin irritation, especially if it's your first time or done improperly. To ease discomfort, try a cool compress or over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult a healthcare professional for proper evaluation and treatment. Take a deep breath, it's likely just a reaction to the waxing.

Thanks
