Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I’m 55 years old, post-menopausal, and I’ve noticed some vaginal bleeding after sex. I’m concerned because this hasn’t happened before. I take Levothyroxine, Lisinopril, Singular, Atorvastatin, Vitamin D3, Lamictal, Lorazepam, and Strattera. Is this something I should be worried about? What could be the cause?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

It’s important to get checked out fully to determine the cause of the bleeding. The first step would be to have a Pap smear and a pelvic scan to evaluate the situation. Depending on the results, a pipelle biopsy may be necessary to gather more information. I strongly recommend you follow up with your treating doctor for a thorough evaluation and further guidance based on your individual health history and the findings.

Thanks
