Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I have been diagnosed with Eagle Syndrome, a rare disorder, since 2018. I am considering a styloidectomy procedure. Can you provide me with more information about this procedure and its potential benefits and risks?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Before considering a styloidectomy, it's important to explore non-surgical options. You can try a course of medication first. I recommend Tab Tegretol 200 mg, to be taken 1 tablet after breakfast and 1 after dinner, and Cap Meganeuron OD Plus, 1 capsule after breakfast and 1 after dinner, both for 10 days. If your symptoms persist or worsen despite medication, then styloidectomy can be considered as an option. It's important to discuss these options further with your healthcare provider to determine the best course of action for your condition.

Thanks
