Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I don't have a persistent cough or nasal congestion, but I’m experiencing catarrh in my chest that occasionally impedes my ability to speak. There are times when I need to clear my throat frequently, as the catarrh restricts airflow or speech. Occasionally, I guide it out through my mouth. What should I do?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

This is likely due to an allergic condition affecting your nose. It’s important to be examined by a pulmonologist to rule out any chest issues. If it’s confirmed as an allergy, starting medication for your nasal symptoms should help.

Thanks
