Hello Doctor,
I’ve been seeing several specialists for almost two years with no clear diagnosis. Five weeks ago, I fainted and fell, fracturing my jaw and splitting my chin. Since then, I’ve had constant migraines, severe neck pain radiating to my shoulders and back, and vision problems. Could these symptoms be related to my fall? What should I do next?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out Dr. Galen, Please find the below response to your query.
1. Given your history of fainting and the subsequent fall causing facial fractures, it’s important to consider that your new symptoms persistent migraines, severe neck pain, and vision problems could be related to traumatic injury to your brain, cervical spine, or nerves. Post-traumatic headaches and nerve irritation or damage in the neck area are common after such injuries and may explain your symptoms.
2. I recommend urgent evaluation with a detailed neurological exam, brain and cervical spine imaging (MRI or CT), and possibly referral to a pain specialist or headache clinic. Managing your pain and identifying any nerve or structural damage early is crucial to improving your symptoms and preventing further complications.
Thanks
