This recommendation is to ensure that there are no potential interactions between alcohol and the medication that could affect its effectiveness or cause side effects. While Diflucan (fluconazole) doesn’t have a direct interaction with alcohol, both can put stress on your liver, and consuming alcohol too soon after completing treatment may increase the risk of liver toxicity.
