Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I have a white coating on my tongue that looks like oral thrush (oral candidiasis). It’s painful when I swallow, and I also feel a lump on one side of my throat. What could this be?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out Dr. Galen, Please find the below response to your query.

The white coating on your tongue and pain when swallowing suggest oral candidiasis, a fungal infection. The lump on one side of your throat might be swollen lymph nodes or inflammation. It’s important to get a proper evaluation to confirm the diagnosis and start antifungal treatment if needed. If symptoms persist or worsen, please see a healthcare provider promptly.

Thanks
