Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I’ve been having sharp and dull pain in my penis for the past 4 days. There’s no discharge or blood when I urinate, and I don’t see any red bumps or sores. The good news is that the pain has gone away over the last 2 days. What could be causing this, and should I be worried?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out Dr. Galen, Please find the below response to your query.

1. Sharp or dull pain in the penis without discharge, blood, or visible bumps can have several causes, including minor irritation, inflammation, or even muscle strain. Since the pain has resolved over the last couple of days, it is a good sign that there may not be a serious infection or injury.

2. However, if the pain returns, worsens, or you develop new symptoms like discharge, swelling, or difficulty urinating, I recommend seeing a urologist for a thorough evaluation. Keeping track of any changes will help guide appropriate treatment if needed.

Thanks
