Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I’m a 28-year-old female. Two days ago, I used a sex toy vaginally and noticed moderate bleeding that stopped quickly. Since then, I’ve had mild pelvic pain (4/10 initially, now 2/10). My vaginal discharge now has a foul smell but no change in texture or color. It’s day 12 of my cycle, so it’s not period-related. Should I be concerned?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Yes, you should see a doctor. The bleeding could be due to vaginal trauma, but the pelvic pain and foul-smelling discharge may indicate an infection like bacterial vaginosis, yeast infection, or pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).

Thanks
