Hello Doctor,
I took medication for chlamydia last July and followed the instructions correctly. I haven't had any symptoms since then, but I'm starting to feel paranoid that I might still have it. I haven't been tested since taking the medication, but I haven't noticed any symptoms, and I've only had one partner since then. Should I get tested again, even though I don't have any symptoms?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
1. It’s always a good idea to get tested after a course of treatment for chlamydia, even if you haven’t had symptoms. While you might not have noticed any signs of infection, chlamydia can sometimes be asymptomatic, meaning it doesn’t show obvious symptoms but can still be present.
2. Since it’s been some time since you took the medication and you’ve had a new partner, it’s best to get tested for peace of mind and to ensure you’re not carrying the infection. Testing is simple, quick, and can help confirm that everything is clear.
Thanks
