Hello Doctor,

I am 35 weeks pregnant and experiencing severe heartburn and nausea. I can’t keep down food, water, or any fluids, and my medication isn't helping. What should I do?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

You should go to the hospital as soon as possible for an evaluation. Your symptoms could be due to a gastrointestinal infection, liver issue, or kidney condition. You’ll need tests to determine the cause and receive appropriate treatment. Be cautious, as severe symptoms like these could also trigger preterm labor.

Thanks
