Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I’m 8 weeks pregnant, and everything seems fine. Last week, the heartbeat was detected, which gave me reassurance. However, today while I was driving, my car swerved, but I managed to regain control after a few seconds. I was very scared and panicked during the incident. Could this affect my pregnancy or cause a miscarriage?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

It's understandable to be worried, but there's no need to panic. Based on what you've described, the event shouldn't have caused any harm to your pregnancy. However, if you’re still feeling concerned or anxious, it’s always a good idea to get a scan to check for any bleeding and ensure the heartbeat is still normal. It’s better to get checked and have peace of mind.

Thanks
