Hello Doctor,

I think I’m pregnant, but a month ago, I had my period a few days after I had sex, so I’m confused.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr.Galen. Please find the below response to your query:

It's completely understandable to be confused, as it is possible to become pregnant at any point during your menstrual cycle, although the chances are highest around ovulation, which typically occurs 5 days before ovulation to 2 days after. If you have a regular cycle, the chances of pregnancy after having your period are low, but a small possibility remains.

Some of the early signs of pregnancy to look out for include: missed periods, tender and swollen breasts, nausea with or without vomiting (morning sickness), frequent urination, and fatigue. Other less common symptoms could include mood swings, bloating, light spotting (implantation bleeding), mild cramping, constipation, food aversions, and nasal congestion. These symptoms are often caused by hormonal changes in early pregnancy.

If you’re uncertain about your pregnancy status, I recommend confirming with a pregnancy test and consulting a healthcare professional for a more accurate diagnosis. It’s always best to schedule a check-up to get the most reliable information.

Thanks
