Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I’m concerned I might be pregnant, but I’ve taken several tests, and they all came back negative. However, I’m still experiencing symptoms, and my period hasn’t arrived yet. With only 2 days left in this month, I’m unsure if I should be worried. What should I do next?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

It’s understandable that you're concerned, especially when your period is delayed and you’re experiencing symptoms. I recommend waiting a week and then repeating the pregnancy test. Sometimes, early tests may not detect pregnancy if the hormone levels are too low. If the test is still negative and you haven't had your period, I would advise scheduling an ultrasound scan to rule out other possibilities and get a clearer understanding of what's happening. It’s always good to be proactive in these situations, and a scan will provide more information to guide the next steps.

Thanks
