Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I use fluticasone propionate nasal spray for allergies, but I've recently noticed spider veins in my nose, and it feels too soft, as if the tissues have weakened. What can I do to get rid of the spider veins, and what might be causing this?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

If you haven't previously examined your nose closely and are noticing these veins for the first time, they may have been present from the beginning. Occasionally, nasal steroids can lead to nosebleeds, but this is usually a temporary condition that improves upon discontinuation of the medication. There's no need to worry unless you experience nosebleeds; in such cases, we may need to consider cauterization.

Thanks
