Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

As I have been experiencing persistent fatigue, frequent episodes of passing out, nausea, dizziness, and an elevated heart rate upon standing, despite getting 8-9 hours of sleep each night and trying various remedies such as vitamins, diet changes, and routine adjustments, what could be the potential causes for these symptoms?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr.Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Orthostatic hypotension: This condition involves a drop in blood pressure when standing up, leading to dizziness and fainting.

Anemia: Low red blood cell count can cause fatigue and dizziness.

Dysautonomia: Dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system can lead to symptoms like dizziness and elevated heart rate upon standing.

Sleep disorders: Despite getting adequate sleep, underlying sleep disorders such as sleep apnea or insomnia could still be affecting your sleep quality.

Cardiac issues: Elevated heart rate and fainting episodes may indicate underlying heart problems that need to be evaluated by a healthcare professional.

Thanks
