Hello Doctor,
I have been dealing with vertigo on and off for the past year and a half, sometimes so severe that I can’t stand or walk for more than a few seconds. I’ve also been experiencing tremors and major balance issues to the point that I had to quit working and can no longer drive. Most of my day is spent reclining because I physically can't stay upright for long. I've undergone extensive testing, including blood work, vestibular exams, MRIs, CT scans, X-rays, nerve conduction tests, and ultrasounds. Doctors have diagnosed me with severe left vestibular dysfunction, brain lesions, and multiple issues with my cervical spine. Despite all of this, I haven’t found a treatment that helps, and my symptoms keep me from living my life. I’m desperate for answers—what else can I do?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
1. Based on what you’ve described, your tremors and vertigo may be separate issues rather than directly related symptoms. Can you recall if they occur at the same time, or do they happen independently? Additionally, I’d need to understand more about your medical history, age, and any previous diagnoses or treatments you’ve tried.
2. If your vertigo is linked to a peripheral vestibular lesion, we can discuss a long-term management plan to help improve your symptoms. However, it’s also important to rule out any underlying infections, which an ENT specialist can evaluate. Regarding the brain lesions found on your MRI, I would need more details from the full report to determine their significance and whether they could be contributing to your symptoms.
Thanks
