Hello Doctor,
I've been having a pimple-like sore in my mouth that comes for a day or two, then goes away for a week, only to reappear again. It doesn't grow, but it releases pus when squeezed. This has been happening for the past two months. What could this be, and should I be concerned?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
1. Based on your description, it seems like you may have an active infection, possibly a sinus tract caused by an affected tooth. This type of infection often results in a pimple-like lesion in the mouth that can discharge pus.
2. To address this, you will need a course of antibiotics to help the infection subside. Afterward, the affected tooth needs to be identified, followed by an X-ray to assess the condition.
3. If necessary, the tooth may require a root canal, followed by a crown to prevent further issues. It's important to consult with your dentist to determine the best course of action.
Thanks
