Hello Doctor,
I’ve been experiencing a lot of unusual body pain and I’m really concerned. I get sharp vaginal pain that feels like I’m pushing out a baby, and I’ve also had intense cramping that feels like contractions, but I’m not on my period. My periods have been coming about 5 days late lately, and when they do come, they only last for about 2 days, which is not normal for me. I also feel pain during sex and sometimes when I use the bathroom. On top of that, I get frequent stomach aches that are hard to ignore. Could all of this be connected to something serious?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
1. The pain you’re describing — in the vaginal area, cramp-like pain without periods, pain during sex or using the bathroom, and stomach aches — could be a sign of a condition like endometriosis. This happens when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of it, causing pain and irregular periods.
2. Your periods coming late and lasting only two days may also be linked. Other possible causes could include ovarian cysts, fibroids, or a pelvic infection. It’s important to get checked.
3. Please see a gynecologist as soon as possible. They can take your medical history, do a proper exam, and possibly run tests like an ultrasound. Getting a diagnosis early helps with better treatment options and symptom relief.
Thanks
