Hello Doctor,
My body is having an allergic reaction to everything I eat instead of just to my regular allergies. I’m afraid if I eat anything today, I'll have an allergic reaction to it. I can’t go see my primary care doctor until next week and I can’t starve myself until then. I have no medical history or past health issues, I just have a lot of food allergies. I’m not sure what to do, as the “safe food” I’ve been trying to eat that usually doesn’t give me any reactions is reacting badly to me now. I think maybe I have some kind of autoimmune disease. I don’t know what to do or what I can eat.
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
To better understand what's going on, I recommend some tests, including:
1. Antinuclear Antibody (ANA) Test
2. Autoantibody Tests
3. Complete Blood Count (CBC) with WBC Differential
4. Comprehensive Metabolic Panel
5. C-Reactive Protein (CRP)
6. Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR)
7. Urinalysis
Meanwhile, avoid any foods that you suspect might be causing these reactions. If you experience a significant allergic reaction, use epinephrine within the allergy window. Once the allergic reaction time passes, gradually reintroduce foods one at a time while monitoring for any new reactions. It’s also essential to follow up with your doctor for a detailed evaluation and treatment plan.
Thanks
