Hello Doctor
Felt discomfort in groin after resting. Checked for testicular torsion but found everything seemed normal, except for the discomfort. It's persisted, especially on the left side, with any muscle movement around my groin. what must be the concern?
Hello
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
Possible Causes: Varicocele and Testicular Torsion
1. Varicocele:
Pain or discomfort on standing or exertion, particularly on the left side of the scrotum, could indicate varicocele, which involves the dilatation of testicular veins.
2. Testicular Torsion Consideration:
Testicular torsion, though commonly associated with intense pain, can occasionally present with milder discomfort.
3. Action Recommended
Given the symptoms, it's crucial to promptly seek medical evaluation to rule out underlying issues, especially considering the potential for testicular torsion without typical severe pain. Healthcare providers will conduct a physical examination and necessary tests to determine the cause for discomfort and ensure appropriate treatment if required.
4. Consultation Urged:
It's advisable to consult with a healthcare professional without delay to address the concerns and ensure timely intervention. Early diagnosis and treatment are critical in cases of testicular torsion to prevent complications and safeguard testicular health.
