Hello Doctor,
Hi. I'm a 55-year-old female suffering from bipolar disorder. I have 1 month of complete bed rest and then the next month I spend in a state of mania. In the depressed phase, my psychiatrist prescribes me 200 mg of Seroquel, and for mania, 800 mg of Seroquel. What do you recommend I should do to stop getting into the manic state?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr.Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
First of all, it’s important to understand your current situation. Are you feeling stable right now, or are you still in the process of recovering? This is crucial because you’re already on a strong pharmacological treatment with Seroquel, which is commonly used to manage both the manic and depressive phases of bipolar disorder.
However, every person responds uniquely to medications like Seroquel. While it works well for many, some individuals may continue to experience symptoms despite the treatment. If this is your case, there are other options available to help you feel better. It’s important to maintain regular and frequent appointments with your healthcare provider to ensure you're receiving the best possible treatment for your specific condition.
Thanks
