Hello Doctor,
I’ve been experiencing severe bloating and constipation for the past few days. I haven’t been able to have a bowel movement, and my stomach feels really full and uncomfortable. I’ve tried drinking more water and eating fiber, but nothing seems to help. Can you give me some advice on what might be causing this and what I can do to relieve these symptoms?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
1. It sounds like you're dealing with constipation and bloating, which can be uncomfortable. One of the best ways to manage this is by ensuring you’re eating plenty of fiber-rich foods, such as fruits and vegetables. These can help soften stool and promote regular bowel movements.
2. Additionally, drinking plenty of water throughout the day is essential, as hydration can aid in relieving constipation. If dietary changes don't provide relief, you might consider using a mild laxative. However, it’s important to use laxatives sparingly and only when necessary. If your symptoms persist or worsen, I would recommend consulting with a healthcare provider to rule out any underlying issues.
Thanks
