Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

My baby has been having a fever and a continuous cough and cold for the past few days. I already consulted a doctor, and they prescribed Regcoff syrup, Phenyamine Hydrochloride and Chlorpheniramine Maleate syrup, and Paracetamol 250 mg syrup. However, I'm still concerned about the symptoms not improving. Should I continue with the prescribed medication, or is there something more I should be doing for my baby? What else can I do to help ease the symptoms?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Viral fevers in children typically take about 3-5 days to resolve on their own. Since your baby has already been prescribed the necessary medication, it is common for the symptoms to persist for a little while as the body fights the infection. However, if the fever continues beyond this period, or if you notice any worsening symptoms, I would recommend consulting your doctor again for further evaluation and to ensure there are no complications.

Thanks
