Hello Doctor,
I think I have a pinched nerve in my lower back. I first noticed it back in November after a workout, and while it’s not extremely painful, it’s been an ongoing annoyance. I haven’t sought treatment yet because I’m not working at the moment and couldn’t afford it. What general advice can you give me to help relieve it or possibly cure it?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
our lower back pain may be due to scoliosis, which puts uneven pressure on muscles and ligaments. This can cause a dull or sharp ache, worsened by sitting, standing, or activity.
Relief Tips:
1. Maintain good posture and use ergonomic support.
2. Try stretching, core exercises, and low-impact activities.
3. Use heat or ice for pain relief.
4. NSAIDs like ibuprofen may help.
5. Consider physical therapy for alignment and strength.
6. Support your back while sleeping.
Thanks
