Hello Doctor
I have been experiencing some discomfort with my eyes lately. They appear red, slightly swollen, and occasionally feel itchy. I have been using eye drops because my eyes were watery, and I thought they would provide relief. However, I later discovered that they expired in January 2024. I'm wondering what I can do to alleviate my symptoms without having to visit the doctor physically.
Hello
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query
1. Understanding the Issue :
These allergies can be triggered by various factors such as pollen or pet dander.
Irritants like dust and smoke, or products such as lotions, makeup, or contact lens solutions can also contribute to allergic reactions.
2. Addressing the Problem :
One common solution for relieving mild eye discomfort is to rinse your eyes with clean, lukewarm water. This can help to flush out any irritants and soothe the irritation. You can do this by splashing water into your eyes or using a clean eyecup to pour water over your eyes.
3. Seeking Professional Advice :
However, if your symptoms persist or worsen, it's important to seek professional advice from an eye doctor. They can assess your condition more thoroughly and recommend appropriate treatment options, ensuring your eyes receive the care they need.
Thanks
