Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I had a simple cyst around a year ago, measuring 4.5x5.4 cm, and it was treated. However, now I have developed a new cyst, described as an anechoic cystic lesion measuring 23x31x32 mm, with an echogenic mass of 6x17 mm. Could this mean the condition has worsened? Should I be concerned?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

It's not uncommon for cysts to recur after treatment. In your case, the new cyst appears to be a bit smaller than the one you had previously. If it's not causing any symptoms or pain, it might not require immediate treatment and could resolve on its own. However, if you're experiencing any discomfort or if the cyst is growing, it would be a good idea to consult with your doctor about possible options for removal. Monitoring the cyst is key to determining whether any action needs to be taken.

Thanks
