Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

I've been experiencing severe stomach pain for the past two hours. The only thing I've eaten today is a bagel with egg and red chili paste. About 30 minutes after finishing, the pain started. I’ve taken anti-gas pills, applied a hot pad to the area, and even had a hot shower, but nothing seems to help. The pain is constant and aching, and it also radiates to my back. I’m also feeling some mild chest pain. What can I do to relieve the pain and make it stop?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

1. Based on your symptoms, it's important to take these seriously. The combination of stomach pain, back pain, and chest discomfort could indicate several potential issues, such as digestive problems or even something affecting your heart.

2. I would recommend seeing a healthcare provider for a thorough evaluation. This may include an endoscopy or abdominal ultrasound to examine your stomach and digestive system, and an ECG (electrocardiogram) to rule out any heart-related concerns. In the meantime, avoid spicy or heavy foods, and try to stay hydrated.

3. Please seek immediate medical attention if the pain worsens or if you experience more severe chest pain or shortness of breath

Thanks
