Hello Doctor,
I had a C-section about three months ago, and it was quite traumatic. During the procedure, it felt like they were pulling the baby out really hard, and my body was dragged all over the operating table. At one point, I was yanked down the table, and my bottom came off the table before slamming back down. Is this normal, or were they being rough? I have some concerns about what I experienced and would appreciate your insights.
Hello
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
I understand that it was a traumatic event for you, and it’s completely normal to have questions and concerns about what happened during the procedure.
C-sections can be complex, and while the surgical team aims to ensure a safe delivery, the physical sensations and movements you felt during the operation can sometimes be intense. It's not uncommon for the surgical team to need to apply significant force to assist in delivering the baby, especially if there are complications or if the baby is in a difficult position. However, the level of force and how it feels can vary from person to person.
If you are feeling anxious or have lingering concerns about your experience, I encourage you to discuss these feelings with your healthcare provider. They can provide you with more context about the procedure and help address any specific worries you may have. It’s important to prioritize your emotional well-being during your recovery.
Thanks
