Patient Question

Hello Doctor,

Over the past year, I've been experiencing recurring abdominal pain and nausea. Occasionally, this is followed by vomiting. I’ve tried over-the-counter medications, but they don't seem to help much. Can you help me understand what might be causing this, and what steps I should take next?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.

Recurring abdominal pain and nausea can result from:

1. Gastritis or Peptic Ulcer Disease

2. Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)

3. Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

4. Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)

5. Food Allergies or Intolerances

Next Steps:

1. Blood Tests to check for infections or inflammation.

2. Imaging (Ultrasound or CT) to assess abdominal organs.

3. Avoid known triggers like specific foods or habits.

Thanks
