How to Treat Septic Arthritis?
- Septic arthritis is treated by antibiotics
- Antibiotics are directly given into a vein. You will stay in the hospital for at least two weeks
- For a few days, you may need to rest in bed to remove pressure from the affected joint. Medication will be given to alleviate the pain
- Also, have the fluid drained from your infected joint using a needle and syringe, or during a procedure called an arthroscopy
