Hello Doctor,
I've noticed something concerning on the left side of my testicle. There seems to be what looks like a vein or possibly a lump, and it has been purple in color. I first saw it about a year ago, but it hasn’t gone away. Should I be worried about this, or is it something that usually goes away on its own?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Dr. Galen. Please find the below response to your query.
Possible Causes:
Varicocele: Swelling of veins in the scrotum, usually on the left side. Can feel like a lump, often harmless but may cause discomfort or fertility issues.
Epididymal Cyst: Fluid-filled sac near the testicle, typically non-painful and often doesn’t need treatment unless it causes discomfort.
Orchitis: Inflammation of the testicle, often due to infection. Causes swelling, pain, and discoloration.
Testicular Cancer: Less common, but lumps or swelling can be a sign. Look for changes in size, shape, or discomfort.
Thanks
